Bernhard sent me this one. I had to post it!

This ad was made with no script. The director was asked to interview two students that were friends from different races, and this is what was captured.

I was procrastinating on the internet and came across this video. Synesthesia is defined as “a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color.” This video is a short, artistic representation of Synesthesia. Enjoy!

I seem to have a lot of stories lately that are post-worthy! This is one of them. Haha!

Kelly-Ann and I went out to dinner with a group of friends. When we got home, Kelly-Ann went into her room to get ready for bed. Soon thereafter, I heard an “eekkk!!”

“Melanieeeeeee there’s a giant roach in my bathroom!!”

I’m the roach killer of the apartment, so I ran to her room. She showed me where it was and I prepared myself for battle.

“Can I use this??” I asked her, holding up a make-up compact.

“Can I use this??” I asked her, holding up her contacts case.

“Hm. Can I use this??” I asked her, holding up her contact solution bottle.

Then I squished it. It moved mid-swing, so I only smashed it’s lower half with the bottle. Guts were everywhere and it was ugly.

… but I got it!

Okay, so I got my oil changed on Friday on my way home from work. I was pretty low on coolant, as I was the previous time that I got my car serviced. He said that he couldn’t see any leaks, but I have a feeling that there was one anyway… Also, one of my oil valves had been leaking, which I knew, but I was 2 quarts low on oil as well. To top that off, my battery is getting very corroded, so I will have to replace it soon. Super good news right?

Soooo while my car is being serviced, I am borrowing my mom/step-dad’s extra car (a long-bed truck). Although it doesn’t have any A/C, I actually don’t mind driving it. It’s SOOO long! I have to take up 2 parking spaces to park it without blocking any lanes.

On with the story…

Kelly-Ann and I had a busy, kind of scary weekend.

On Friday, my roommate Winn called us at 2PM and said that he would be home in 4 hours. We were really excited, and we couldn’t wait to see him. We were planning on going to a party, so we got ready and waited for him to arrive.

Just past 6, we started to think “oh, he just stopped somewhere to eat. He’ll be home soon.” Another hour passed, and then another. We called his cell and sent him a text. No answer.

“Well, maybe he stopped somewhere to visit a friend. He’ll call us back soon.”

It was 3:30AM and we still hadn’t heard ANYTHING. Super scary, right? So Kelly-Ann called 911 and told the operator the story. A police officer called her afterward and told us that there was nothing that we could do until he had been missing for 24 hours.

The next morning, Kelly-Ann called campus police. The officer couldn’t give us any of his home information, but he called Winn’s home number and left a message to call us.

Still nothing.

Kelly-Ann and I decided that there was nothing that we could do really until we heard back from his parents, so we decided to run errands and wait to hear back.

While I was driving, I decided to call Winn one last time to try to get in contact with someone. It rings for a bit and then a man answered.

“Are you looking for Winn? You can reach him at ###-###-####.” Awesome! I dialed the number and got a familiar voice.

It was Winn!!!

He told me that had gotten sick and blacked-out while driving home. He rolled his car on the highway. Luckily, he only had a cut on his head and a sprained ankle. He told me, “I look like Frankenstein right now.”

We were so happy that Winn was alright!

It made us think about how much we don’t know about each other. On the drive home, I put all of my family’s numbers in Kelly-Ann’s phone, just in case of emergency. Hopefully nothing like this will happen again!
